About Me
My name is Gary Hanna. I have been a professional artist for more than
20 years. I am a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles where
I studied illustration utilzing a variety of traditional techniques.
Over the years I have moved away from tradtional tools and now work exclusivly
on the computer. By using the latest 3D modeling/sculpting and painting programs,
I am able to produce images quickly and with a great amount of flexablity for both my
clients and the creative process.
In addtion to Illustrating for both the advertising and publishing markets, I have
over 10 years of experience in the computer games industry. I started as a production
artist but quickly moved into art direction and eventually became part owner of a
game studio. After we published our first and only title for Microsoft, my wife and I
made a major life change and in 2003 we moved just outside of Seattle to the Olympic Peninsula. Since that time, I have focused on my freelance illustration career.
Most of my recent work has been for the publishing market with an emphasis on
wildlife for publishers such as Scholastic, DK, and Weldon/Owen. But, I still enjoy the
work I get from the games and advertising industries.
